SELF Expressions Unlimited is a Society that is "Self" Centered... We are about YOU.

What do we mean by "SELF" Centered?

Self: (Webster) 1. The total, essential, or particular being of one person; the individual. 2. The qualities of one person distinguishing him from another; personality or character; individuality. 3. An individual's consciousness his own being or identity; subjectivity; ego. 4. One's own interests, welfare, or advantage; private or personal concerns; selfishness.

The current definition of "Self" is one of the most archaic definitions of contemporary language. Not that Webster’s dictionary is "wrong"... it is just "limiting".

While SEU emphasizes the importance of the Society being "Self" Centered in relation to the Individual and the Individual being "Self" Centered in relation to the Society... it is also important that the Individual is "Self" Centered in relation to their Selves. A healthy Society is a result of healthy Individuals. Individuals grow healthy and loving when they are attended to in a Caring and Loving Way. Love is as Love Does.

True or Universal love though involves a tremendous amount of responsibility... not only to ourselves and others... but to Nature, the World and even the Universe. To truly love others, we must truly love ourselves. To truly love ourselves... we must truly love our "Selves". We must confront our own fear and ignorance... and likewise confront the fear and ignorance of the communities and larger Societies that we are a part of.

"Universal Love" is more a state of being. It is Understanding that we are all part of a Greater Whole.

While SEU also sees the "Self" as "The total, essential, or particular being of one person; the Individual"... we also see the Self as being connected in essential spirit to all other life forms. What we do to others, we do to ourselves. Working together with others, both on a local and national level, to help make SELF Expressions "Unlimited" is something that can be not only meaningful, but also a lot of fun.
